Your deeply flawed husband

Dear wife,
Listen closely…
That husband of yours is as deeply flawed and wounded as they come – if you hadn’t noticed yet. It’s not his fault. It’s not even his parent’s fault. His parents were just as flawed and wounded as he is. And their parents (his grandparents) were just as flawed and wounded.
Whose fault is it anyway?
It’s Adam and Eve’s fault. Adam and Eve did that. We are all still suffering because of those two.

Here’s the bad news
There are flaws, wounds and issues in his life that might never be resolved. Never! He will live and die with those deep flaws, wounds and issues. Those flaws, wounds and issues might affect his life and your life more than you know.
There are flaws, wounds and issues in his life that might never be resolved. Never!
And these flaws, wounds and issues will make him at times reject you, ignore you, pretend he is listening, be angry at you, harsh towards you, blame you, fail you most times, break his promises, and he will not always be excited about your body (you know how things go south as you age right? You know those perky boobs of yours. They are going down baby)

Now here’s the really good news… ready?

Jesus is the only person on the face of the earth who likes to use deeply flawed and wounded people. It almost seems like he will not use anyone that will not admit how flawed and wounded they are. Jesus is like that girl that’s attracted to bad boys – boys that treat her bad and yet still dates them. Jesus actually loves to use deeply flawed people because deeply flawed people is all He has.

So, that husband of yours is the best candidate in Jesus’ line up. Jesus will intentionally choose him for you so that he (Jesus) can love you through him. Jesus will love you through your husband’s flaws, wounds, issues and failures.

You are deeply flawed and wounded as well. Yes, you are! You also have daddy issues from Adam and Eve. You also brought into your marriage or will bring into your marriage deep flaws, wounds and issues. But here’s what I want you to know. You will never know how much you are loved until you experience how much Jesus loves you through a deeply flawed and wounded husband.

You will never know how much Jesus loves you until you experience how much Jesus loves you through a deeply flawed and wounded husband.

Jesus loves you this I know.

That’s what grace looks like
